Who is Aihan Mifthas?
Aihan Mifthas is the solo founder, CEO, and lead developer of Brainfy. He builds the product end-to-end: writing the engineering, designing the interface, shaping the brand, and shipping every release himself. Brainfy began as the calm, focus-first study tool he wished he'd had during his own exams — one that respected his attention instead of competing for it.
He approaches Brainfy as a single-operator product: opinionated about defaults, allergic to feature creep, and built around a simple promise — study deeper, distraction-free.
Why Brainfy exists
Most study apps optimise for the wrong thing. Streaks, badges, push notifications, leaderboards — surfaces designed to keep students using the app, not necessarily learning. Aihan built Brainfy as a deliberate counter-position: a study tool that measures honest focus, not vanity engagement.
"Built by a student, for students. One person, one obsession: a study tool that respects your attention."
That position shapes every choice in the product — from the calm, dark interface and the no-dopamine analytics page, to the deliberate absence of streaks and gamification loops.
The philosophy behind Brainfy
- Attention is the scarce resource. Brainfy never interrupts, never gamifies, never bargains for engagement.
- Honest metrics over vanity metrics. Analytics show real focus time and real recall — not streaks meant to manipulate.
- Calm beats clever. The interface is intentionally quiet so the work can be loud.
- Ship in the open. Every commit is public on GitHub. No theatre, no roadmap-as-marketing.
- Free while we figure it out. Brainfy is free during the beta — students get every feature without paywalls.
What Aihan is building
Brainfy combines the surfaces a serious student actually uses, in one calm app:
- Pomodoro focus timer with adjustable presets and a distraction-free running state
- AI-generated flashcards from notes, PDFs, and images
- AI Import (OCR + Vision) — upload a PDF or photo of a textbook page and Brainfy extracts the content
- Smart document library for organising study material
- Weekly study timetable for planning the work, not just doing it
- AI tutor with streaming chat that explains and quizzes
- Honest study analytics — real focus minutes, real recall, no streak theatre
The full product lives at brainfy.online. It runs in any modern browser, works on mobile, and is free to use today.
Built in the open
Brainfy is shipped publicly. Aihan's commits are visible on GitHub (Aihan-7) — you can see the product evolve in real time. There is no team, no investors steering the roadmap, and no marketing department writing optimistic copy. Just one founder, building.
